Fire-Ed Up is a Hunter Innovation and Science Hub initiative funded by the NSW Office of the Chief Scientist and Engineer, developed from the Central Coast Council's award-winning program.

Bushfire-related knowledge is critical in Australia — prediction, preparedness, prevention, risk mitigation.
Enrich students' knowledge, interest and skills surrounding Bushfires and Environmental Sustainability & Risk (or related 'Natural Disasters') by having them engage in this poster competition!
$200 for winning team plus $200 for school of winning team

All participants receive certificates with prizes awarded to winning teams and their schools. The emphasis is on participation!

This innovative and exciting competition enables students from all NSW schools to work in teams of 2 to 5 students, and conduct a small-scale version of a real-world bushfire-related investigation, developing core STEM and cross-functional skills!

NOTE: Those outside NSW inspired to undertake this bushfire-related activity may submit entries for students to receive recognition via a participation certificate and/or consider submitting to the NSPC which welcomes entries on any topic from all states and territories.
